Double Injustice
Climate Change and Gender Inequality
Spring 2023 / Personal + Class Project
An infographic about the double injustice of the effects of climate change and gender inequality.
WHY?
Women and girls in poverty are disproportionately affected by the detrimental effects of climate change, drastically decreasing their chances of breaking the poverty cycle. Women possess a greater risk from climatic shocks, extreme and uncertain weather, and changes in the environment and economy. I aim to inform others about the intricacies of this issue, and where in the world these injustices most often occur.
RESEARCH
I gathered loads of data on this topic by analyzing the article Tackling the Double Injustice of Climate Change and Gender Inequality by Agnes Otzelberger with Mipsie Marshall. This article provides an extensive outline of the intricacies of both of these issues, while providing evidence of real cases and possible solutions to these cases. Through analyzing and combing through the data, I was able to boil it down into something digestible for a viewer to understand.
